This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, store and protect personal information when you visit our website, purchase a paper, use our learning resources or contact us.

1. About PaperSprint Academy

PaperSprint Academy is an online KASNEB exam-preparation platform.

For the personal information we collect and use to operate PaperSprint, we determine the purposes and means of processing and act as the data controller, where applicable.

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, you can contact us using the details in Section 13.

2. Information we collect

We collect information that is reasonably necessary to provide our services. Depending on how you use PaperSprint, this may include:

  • Contact and learner information: Your name, email address, and any other information you provide when purchasing a paper or contacting us.

  • Purchase and enrolment information: The paper purchased, payment amount, transaction reference, payment status, enrolment date and access period.
  • Learning information: Information generated through your use of learning activities, such as assessment attempts, scores, progress and other learning records supported by the platform.
  • Support information: Messages, screenshots and other information you provide when requesting assistance.
  • Technical information: Information such as your IP address, browser, device information and website usage data, where collected through the platform or its service providers.
  • Newsletter information: Your email address and subscription preferences if you choose to receive our newsletter.

We do not ask you to provide sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for a specific purpose. Please do not send passwords, PINs or full payment-card details through our contact form or email.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

* Process purchases and confirm payments.

* Enrol learners and provide access to purchased papers.

* Manage the four-month access period.

* Deliver learning resources and maintain learning records.

* Respond to support requests and resolve technical or payment issues.

* Send necessary service communications about purchases, access and platform operation.

* Send newsletters and promotional communications where you have chosen to receive them or where otherwise permitted by law.

* Maintain the security, reliability and performance of the platform.

* Comply with applicable legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations.

* Improve our services using relevant feedback and usage information.

We will not use your personal information for a purpose that is incompatible with the purpose for which it was collected, except as permitted by applicable law.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process personal information only where there is an applicable lawful basis.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include processing necessary to provide the service you purchased, comply with a legal obligation, pursue a legitimate business interest that does not override your rights, or act on your consent.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal.

5. Payments and payment information

PaperSprint uses Paystack to process supported payments.

When you make a purchase, payment information is processed through the payment provider. We receive information needed to confirm the transaction, maintain purchase records and activate your access.

We do not require you to send full payment-card details to PaperSprint through email or the contact form.

Payment processing is also subject to the payment provider’s applicable privacy and security practices.

6. Learning platform and service providers

PaperSprint uses LearnWorlds to deliver its learning platform and may use Zapier to automate parts of the purchase and enrolment process.

These and other service providers may process personal information on our behalf where necessary to provide their services. The information shared will depend on the service being performed.

We seek to use service providers that apply appropriate data-protection and security measures. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our legal rights, or to investigate fraud, security incidents or misuse of the platform.

7. Newsletter and marketing communications

If you subscribe to the PaperSprint newsletter, we may use your email address to send exam-preparation updates, new paper releases, study tips and other relevant PaperSprint communications.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe option provided in the message or by contacting us.

Unsubscribing from marketing communications will not prevent us from sending necessary service messages relating to your purchases, access or support requests.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website and learning platform may use cookies or similar technologies to support essential website functions, maintain sessions, remember preferences and understand how the platform is used.

Where optional analytics, marketing or other non-essential tracking technologies are used, we will provide information and obtain consent where required by applicable law.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings and any cookie controls made available on the website. Disabling essential cookies may affect the operation of some platform features.

Further details will be provided in our Cookie Policy.

9. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law.

Your purchased paper provides four months of learning access from enrolment. **The expiry of learning access does not necessarily mean that all purchase, payment or learning records are immediately deleted.**

We may retain information for purposes such as accounting, legal compliance, dispute resolution, security and the administration of our services.

When information is no longer required, we will delete, anonymise or otherwise securely dispose of it, subject to applicable legal and technical requirements.

10. International processing and data security

Some of our service providers may process or store information outside Kenya.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will take steps to ensure that the transfer is carried out in accordance with applicable data-protection law and appropriate safeguards.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a personal-data breach, we will investigate and take appropriate action, including notifying affected individuals or relevant authorities where required by law.
